SEVERAL students from Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telangana BC Welfare Residential School fell ill after consuming cauliflower curry, prompting food safety authorities to launch an investigation. Instead, we collected samples of all the ingredients, including vegetables," said Karimnagar Food Safety Officer T Sunita. She added that the lab has been requested to expedite the test results.In response, the cooking agency has implemented stricter hygiene measures, including the use of face and head masks.On Wednesday, students were served aloo kurma and vegetable biryani, with the hostel principal, K Venugopal, confirming that food is now being checked for hygiene twice before serving. Of the 436 enrolled students, 326 attended the hostel that day. Among the 32 students affected, eight returned to the hostel on Wednesday. Authorities have also collected water samples from the RO plant and borewell for testing as part of the investigation.
