TELANGANA prisons saw a 30.8% increase in the number of prisoners being lodged in jails in 2024 compared to 2023.

TELANGANA prisons saw a 30.8% increase in the number of prisoners being lodged in jails in 2024 compared to 2023. As many as 41,138 prisoners were lodged in the jails in 2024 as against 31,428 in 2023.

Director General (Prisons and Correctional Services) Sowmya Mishra on Wednesday released the statistics at the annual media conference here.
