NEENDAKARA panchayat has been facing a severe shortage of potable water after the pipeline from Chavara to Sasthamcotta, laid over the national waterway, broke last Sunday. The authorities are using PVC pipes to restore water supply temporarily, with the supply expected to be restored by Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, work is also progressing on installing high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes for a permanent solution. These HDPE pipes are designed to efficiently regulate the flow and speed of water. The pipeline supplied water from Sasthamcotta to Neendakara and parts of Kollam corporation.
