Pinarayi, Stalin to inaugurate new Periyar memorial

THE chief ministers of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Pinarayi Vijayan and M K Stalin, will come together to inaugurate the newly renovated memorial of the renowned Tamil reformist E V Ramasami Naikar, affectionately known as Periyar, in Vaikom on Thursday.

Pinarayi, Stalin to inaugurate new Periyar memorial

The memorial, owned by the Tamil Nadu government, has undergone a significant renovation at a cost of Rs 8.14 crore.

The building that previously housed the museum showcasing Periyar's paintings and other items has been partially demolished and transformed into a two-storey structure. The museum will now occupy the ground floor, while the administrative office will be located on the upper floor.
