The mayor figured much lower in the list and that was viewed as a breach of protocol."As per protocol, the mayor's name, being the first citizen of the city, is listed at the top and not placed last," a party insider revealed on condition of anonymity."Shockingly, the names of three former MLAs, a former state general secretary, and a former city minister were included, while other former state general secretaries or ex-BJP presidents were ignored. This move clearly shows the city BJP president prioritised his inner circle, further fueling discord within the party," the source added.Perhaps noticing the rumblings, Patil ordered the plaque removed. He will now decide who will figure on a new plaque and in what order.
