'CFTRI's milling tech played role in empowering developing nations'

Speaking at the valedictory of the 43rd ISMT course held at the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) on Friday, Phaneendra said: "In 1988, I underwent the year-long course offered here. The training I received enabled me to work with food manufacturing companies in Nigeria and Mozambique, where I contributed to providing high-quality wheat products for underprivileged communities in Africa. It's a matter of pride for me."

Phaneendra shared how he later set up a 30-tonne wheat flour manufacturing unit in his hometown of Guntur. "Obtaining industrial licenses to run small enterprises was easier then. I took the initiative to ensure high-quality wheat flour reached rural areas across Andhra Pradesh," he reminisced.
