Elgar case: Bail to Rona Wilson and Sudhir Dhawale

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday granted bail to researcher Rona Wilson and activist Sudhir Dhawale, arrested in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case in 2018, saying that the trial in the case is yet to start.

Granting the bail against a surety of ₹1 lakh each, a division bench of Justices AS Gadkari and Kamal Khata cited prolonged incarceration and non-framing of charges.

The HC directed Wilson and Dhawale to appear before the special NIA court during the trial, surrender their passports, and not leave the city until the trial is over.
