ISRO sets SpaDex sats off on historic journey; may dock by January 7

IN a rare nighttime launch, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) workhorse PSLV-C60 vehicle on Monday successfully launched the two SpaDex (Space Docking Experiment) satellites in their intended orbit.

In about a week's time, for the first time, the space agency will attempt to join the satellites together in space and demonstrate transfer of electrical power transmission. This is deemed to be one of the most complex space missions undertaken till date by ISRO.
