CONCERNS have emerged over the construction quality of houses under the YSR Jagananna Pedalu Andariki Illu scheme in the Panduru 1 and 2 layouts in Kakinada rural.
Beneficiaries have raised alarms after discovering that the contractors did not follow proper construction norms. Instead of digging pillar footing holes for strength, the contractors drilled small holes for the pillars, inserted iron structures, and poured concrete directly into the hole.
One beneficiary raised an objection, only to find that the pillar hole was filled with just six inches of concrete. Later, the foundation was easily removed, raising further doubts about the structural integrity.
