The deceased, Manoj of Malappuram and Joyal of Kasaragod, were employees of a Ponnani-based caravan tourism company.
The caravan, which had been hired for a wedding in Thalassery, was being taken back to Ponnani. It had been parked on the roadside near the KTDC building for two days before the bodies were discovered on Monday evening. Residents who noticed the parked vehicle grew concerned after observing no activity and alerted the police.
