Apex court seeks details on pending cases against Balaji

EXPRESSING serious concern over how DMK leader V Senthil Balaji was reinstated as minister in the Tamil Nadu government days after he was granted bail in a money-laundering case, the Supreme Court on Friday noted that it was "terribly wrong" to do so.

The Supreme Court, led by Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Augustine George Masih, expressed serious concern over the reappointment of DMK leader V Senthil Balaji as a minister in Tamil Nadu, days after he was granted bail in a money laundering case.

The court made these remarks while hearing a plea filed by complainant K Vidhya Kumar, seeking the recall of the court's September 26 verdict that granted Balaji bail.
