A total of 38 accused were convicted in 17 murder cases in the year, said the police.
According to a press note, 537 road accidents were reported in the district, with 554 casualties. The police registered 5,494 cases of drunk driving and 13,405 cases of mobile phone use while driving. Besides, 163 cases were filed for transporting passengers in goods vehicles, adding to 3,34,436 motor vehicle-related violations.
