INDEPENDENT MLA G Nehru, representing Orleanpet constituency, petitioned Assembly Secretary J Dayalane on Thursday, seeking a no-confidence motion against Puducherry Speaker R Selvam.

Addressing the media, MLA Nehru said, "The speaker has been acting in a manner that disrespects the sanctity of his position. By removing me from the post of Chairman of the Assurance Committee, he has demonstrated partiality."
