CM: Govt will bear edu cost of kids of cracker unit staff who die in blasts

A day after inspecting a firecracker manufacturing unit in Virudhunagar where the workers urged Chief Minister MK Stalin to ensure a steady future for their kids, he announced that the government would bear the education expenses of children of workers who die in cracker unit blasts.

The beneficiaries would be finalised by a committee formed at the district level, under the leadership of the collector, and their education expenses (till higher education) would be taken care of, Stalin said on Sunday, adding that the government will initially allocate ₹5 crore for the purpose.
