Real race on the videogame

PERSUASIVE anecdotal evidence has me convinced that everyone's first game was a racing game.

Real race on the videogame

It is very likely that someone you know hasn't yet forgotten the cheat codes to Road Rash (it's been 20 years, it's time to move on) and I'm maybe the right age to have grown up with a series of Forza titles. It's easy to understand the appeal. They're fairly straightforward. All you need to do is accelerate, break, and turn at the right time.

Some part of our animal brains still "feels the need for speed" as Tom Cruise once said, and games like this offer us an easily accessible fix, that's both safe and free from the concern of rising petrol prices. Given that I've always loved these kinds of games, I was definitely going to like F1 2024, wasn't I? I need to be honest with you, dear reader. I had never seen a single Formula 1 race prior to beginning this game. So, the past week has been a bit of a crash course for me, trying to absorb everything about the culture to make the game make some more sense. I've gathered that not only is Formula One one of the biggest racing tournaments in the international racing circuit, it's also by far one of the more technically complicated sports.
