The top court also ordered that status quo be maintained at the Shambhu border near Ambala, where farmers have been camping since February 13, till it hears the matter.
"Punjab and Haryana governments have to find a resolution," said a 3-judge bench led by Justice Surya Kant, Justice Dipankar Datta and Ujjal Bhuyan.
The bench said the proposed committee can reach out to farmers and other stakeholders to find out viable solution that can be fair, just and in the interests of everyone.
