Senatorial aspirant Luis "Manong Chavit" Singson, during a press conference for the e-Mobility Proof of Concepts event at GAC Motors in Pasig City, could not contain his excitement about the cutting-edge electric prototype that aims to revolutionize the beloved mode of transportation and address urban mobility challenges.
Manong Chavit, founder and chairperson of the LCS Group of Companies, said the initiative's essence goes beyond producing e-jeepneys. Its primary goal is assisting Filipinos who have endured road inconvenience and pollution for years.
In other words, the business is not about making profits but serving the community and addressing the road challenges faced by public utility drivers and commuters.
"Tulong ito sa mga Pilipino (This is help for Filipinos)," he said.
ZERO-INTEREST
He commits to offering zero-interest loans to PUV drivers to transition to eco-friendly options like e-trikes, motorcycles, and e-jeepneys.
"I will provide loans to all drivers even if it means personal sacrifice," he said in Filipino.
Singson said the rationale for LCS Holdings Inc. to come to the aid of local transport groups demonstrates his dedication to championing the well-being of thousands of Filipino jeepney drivers and millions of commuters.
"By adopting electric jeepneys, we aim to create a positive environmental impact and enhance the daily lives of Filipinos," Manong Chavit said.
