In a letter released on Tuesday, the administration gave Israel 30 days to allow more humanitarian assistance to enter Gaza, or it would face consequences. That's a welcome indication that President Joe Biden is belatedly enforcing US law, which bars military assistance to countries that block American humanitarian aid.
As a State Department official, Matthew Miller, put it: "It's just a plain reading of US law." The problem is that until now Biden hasn't seemed able to read the law plainly.
