A security guard caught two pigeons from a Bangladeshi vessel docked at Paradip and handed them over to Paradip Model Police for detailed investigation on Tuesday.

Sources revealed that the Bangladeshi-flagged vessel MV Fast, carrying 45,000 metric tonnes of steel slabs, berthed at the Paradip International Cargo Terminal (PICT) on Monday. Two pigeons were found perched on the vessel. Security guards stationed at the PICT berth captured the pigeons and subsequently handed them over to Paradip Model Police Station.

Forest Ranger Kartikeswar Khandai stated, "After receiving the pigeons from the local police, we conducted a health examination and found them to be in normal condition."

During the inspection, we noticed that tape was fixed to the legs of both pigeons. The police may conduct further inquiries.
