The decision on the bail plea of Partha Chatterjee, the former education minister and ex-Trinamul Congress secretary general, in the cash-for-school-job case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) remained pending on Wednesday, as the two-judge division Bench of the Calcutta High Court reached a split verdict.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned hearing on a plea filed by the former minister seeking bail in connection with the money laundering case linked to the alleged cash-for-school job scam.
The matter could not be taken up for hearing due to the non-sitting of Justice Surya Kant-led Bench.
