Premier League: Newcastle beat Man Utd, Ipswich stun Chelsea

Newcastle United recorded their fourth straight Premier League win after a 2-0 victory over struggling Manchester United at Old Trafford. Alexander Isak scored for the sixth straight Premier League game to gift Newcastle fans a morale-boosting victory going into the new year. This was Newcastle's fourth successive victory while United are beaten for the third straight match.

Newcastle's commanding display marked the first time since February 1979 that Man United has lost three home league games in a row. It was also the first time since 1962 that United has lost five league matches in the same calendar month. The result keeps the Magpies in fifth place in the Premier League table heading into January - just three points shy of a top four spot with half the campaign still to play.
