After reading deputy opinion editor Mubin Saadat's Opinion article "The perpetual challenge of keeping labels out of the education system" (Sept 13), I wondered how a simple label could affect a child's growth.
Some people argue that streaming the "better" and more academically gifted students is detrimental to the self-esteem and confidence of a child who does less well, and thus should be removed.
