"Our worst fears have been confirmed," Merced County sheriff Vernon Warnke told reporters on Wednesday night. The discovery of the bodies came after the baby, her parents, and her uncle were kidnapped on Oct 3 from the family's trucking business in Merced, California, about 185km south-east of Sacramento, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office said surveillance footage outside the business showed an armed man forcing the family members into a truck, two of them with their hands apparently zip-tied behind their backs.
