Leicester win appeal over Premier League's PSR jurisdiction
The Straits Times|September 05, 2024
Leicester City have won an appeal against a decision that could have led to a points deduction for an alleged breach of English Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the club said on Sept 3.

The Foxes, back in the top flight after winning the Championship last term, appealed on the basis that an independent commission ruling on the case did not have jurisdiction, which was upheld by an independent appeal board.

The decision came on the grounds that Leicester's accounting period ended on June 30, 2023, when the club were no longer a member of the Premier League, following their relegation to the second tier the previous month.

Premier League clubs are allowed to lose up to only £105 million (S$180 million) over a threeseason period under the PSR, and both Everton and Nottingham Forest were given points deductions last season.
