Milwaukee players expressed surprise after the NBA Cup champions were not selected to play on the holiday.
After all, the Bucks were the No. 3 seeds in the Eastern Conference last season and boast one of the league's marquee players in Giannis Antetokounmpo.
"A lot of teams play on Christmas," Bucks center Brook Lopez said.
"They have a lot of games on Christmas. So, yeah, I do think it's disrespectful, but I don't make the schedule. I don't know how that happened."
Looking past that, Milwaukee now turn their attention to the struggling Nets (11-18), who have lost eight of their last 10.
The Bucks won for the sixth time in their last seven games on Dec 23, when Khris Middleton and Lopez scored 21 points apiece in a 112-91 road victory over the Chicago Bulls.
