THE growing pains for England's new-look white-ball side continued at Headingley as they crashed to a second successive heavy defeat by Australia.

If it was Australia's spinners who undid England at Trent Bridge, it was the pace attack - strengthened by the return of opening bowlers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood that overpowered them in the second Metro Bank ODI.

Rome wasn't rebuilt in a day but England head for Durham on Tuesday two down in the five-game series after some painful lessons.

Chasing a viable victory target of 271, the hosts had lost half their side before the end of the powerplay and succumbed by 68 runs.
