PONTINS OWNER CLAIMED £6M OF FURLOUGH CASH

THE hotel chain behind Pontins, which has suddenly closed two parks, banked £6million in taxpayerfunded furlough cash.

Britannia Hotels, ranked Which?'s worst UK hotel chain for the past 11 years, had pre-tax profits of £33.3million in 2021-22.

That year it got £956,683 to help it through the pandemic, on top of £5,396,810 furlough cash from the year before.
