Health Secretary vows to sort Tories' 'new hospital' mess

HEALTH Secretary Wes Streeting has vowed to be honest about I when the Tories' broken promise to build 40 new hospitals will finally be met.

Mr Streeting has ordered an urgent review amid concern work has not even begun at 20 proposed sites.

Last night, as he vowed to "get on with fixing our health service", he said the Tories" "cruel and cynical ploy" had given people "false hope".

In his 2019 election manifesto, Boris Johnson vowed to build "40 new hospitals" by 2030. The Tories later admitted some would not be built from scratch and would instead have buildings refurbished or altered.
