Another minor gangraped; 2 held

Realising Girl Had No Money, Cabbie Lured Her Into Car On Pretext Of Giving Free Ride

- Days after the gang rape of a minor in upscale Jubilee Hills, yet another case of an 11-year-old being gang raped in the Old City area of Hyderabad, came to light on Sunday. Following the victim's statement recorded at a Bharosa Centre (support centre for women and children who are victims of crime), the police arrested two people-a cab driver and his associate and sent them to judicial remand.

Hyderabad: According to cops, the incident took place when the class 7 student was waiting to avail an auto, around early evening, on May 31. She had gone to meet her parents who live there, but had found their door locked.

"The minor lives with her grandmother and uncle. But that afternoon, she suddenly wanted to see her parents. So, without informing anyone she took an auto," said police adding that the cab driver spotted her when she was waiting to get back to her grandmother's place.
