<p><strong>Visakhapatnam/Vijayawada:&nbsp;</strong>Amidst high drama, the CID arrested former minister and TDP politburo member Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu and his son Ch Rajesh from their Narsipatnam residence in Anakapalle district on Thursday morning in connection with filing of allegedly forged documents related to an &ldquo;encroached&rdquo; parcel of land.</p>

<p id="2">The arrests sparked protests by TDP leaders all over the state, with former chief minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu describing the early morning arrest as an &ldquo;act of anarchy&rdquo;. The TDP gave a call for Narsipatnam bandh on Thursday in protest against the arrests. The party later gave a call for state bandh on Friday.</p>
<p id="3">But when the arrested were produced before the chief metropolitan magistrate court in Visakhapatnam, the latter refused to remand Patrudu and Rajesh, citing that CID officials did not follow due legal procedure and had not served the accused notice under Section 41A of CrPC before arresting them.</p>
