Following a complaint, the collector had decided to hold a hearing with the companies in Mahbubnagar on Saturday.&nbsp;The erring companies have failed to control pollution despite the National Green Tribunal issuing orders.
Representatives and managers of the companies have been asked to attend the hearing along with written arguments and relevant documents. They complainants have also been asked to appear with documentary evidence in support of their claims.
Kosgi Venkataiah, a social worker, and sarpanch K Pentaiah, both residents of Mudireddypally village in Rajapur mandal filed a petition against the pharma companies operating in Polepally SEZ.
Some of the accused companies were: Shilpa Medicare Private Limited, Aurobindo Pharma, Hetero Labs, Sri Kartikeya Pharma, APL Health Care, Hamkalji Private Ltd, Evertojan Life Sciences Ltd, Mylan Laboratories and Elan Barrie Gas company.
The complainants alleged&nbsp;the companies were acting against earlier orders of the NGT and releasing polluted water along with rain water which is leading to contamination of the surrounding water resources and affecting the land and the health of animals and human beings.
The NGT bench in Delhi, in its order in July 2021, had directed the Telangana State Pollution Control Board to take remedial action.
