New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Thursday strongly argued for expeditious disposal of pending departmental proceedings or corruption charges against government employees while suggesting that departments can be ranked on the parameter of swift disposal of corruption cases.
At the same time, the PM put his weight behind anti-graft institutions such as CVC and said they “need not be defensive” while tackling corruption even when some people with “vested interests” keep shouting and trampling on such institutions. “I keep repeating that while working for the country and for honesty, we should not be defensive even if controversies are created,” he added.
