Jaishankar in Moscow will look to boost trade ties

New Delhi: Apart from reviewing energy and trade ties against the backdrop of Western sanctions, India and Russia will use foreign minister S Jaishankar’s visit to Moscow on Tuesday also to finalise the agenda for cooperation under multilateral frameworks, including G20, SCO and Brics.

The situation in Afghanistan and counter-terrorism are also among the issues that will figure in the meetings.

Jaishankar, who is expected to exhort Moscow yet again to end the conflict with Ukraine, will meet his counterpart Sergey Lavrov and Russian trade minister Denis Manturov during his two-day visit that starts today.
