Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is now reportedly probing hawala angle in the Delhi liquor policy scam involving Hyderabad-based businessman-cum-lobbyist Abhishek Boinpally. The probe agency, in its custody petition filed in the CBI special court at Delhi, has mentioned that it was looking into suspected hawala dealings.
CBI is probing the allegations of irregularities in framing the Delhi government's excise policy for 202122. Abhishek was arrested by CBI for allegedly aiding south lobby and the Hyderabad cartel involved in the liquor scam. The agency had sought five-day custody of Abhishek, but the court granted CBI just three days for custodial interrogation.
