<p id="1"><strong>Guwahati:&nbsp;</strong>As India fret over how serious bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah&rsquo;s stress fracture injury is, head coach Rahul Dravid is hoping that the bowler manages to make it to T20 World Cup Down Under starting on October 16.</p>

<p id="3">&ldquo;As of now, he&rsquo;s (Bumrah) been officially ruled out, as you know, from this series against South Africa. He has gone to NCA. And we are waiting for the official confirmation on the next steps. So, as of now, officially he is only out of this series, but we will see what happens over the next few days. And once we get some official confirmation, then we will be able to share that,&rdquo; the former India skipper said about Bumrah&rsquo;s injury status right at the beginning of the pre-match press conference on Saturday, the eve of the second T20 International here on Sunday.</p>
<p id="4">Asked about his assessment of the injury, Dravid explained, &ldquo;I honestly haven&rsquo;t gone deep into the medical reports. I mean, I rely on the experts to tell me what&rsquo;s happening. He&rsquo;s being assessed. And we will know in due course what happens in future. Obviously, till I get the official confirmation that he is ruled out, we will always be hopeful. We will always hope for the best not just for us as a team, but also just as individuals, we will always hope for the best for the remainder of the matches.&rdquo;</p>
<p id="5">&ldquo;To a large extent, we manage to get everything. Not everything will be perfect. It happens, it&rsquo;s part and parcel of the game, we are not the only team which suffers from injuries. Obviously if they happen closer to big tournaments they can upset your plans a little bit. Everyone is making good efforts to minimize the injuries as much as possible,&rdquo; Dravid said about the players&rsquo; workload management.</p>
<p>Asked about Bumrah&rsquo;s replacement for the T20 World Cup if he ultimately misses the bus, Dravid said, &ldquo;We are quite comfortable that we have got all the skills that allow us to play different combinations and different kinds of XIs based on the wickets and oppositions. That&rsquo;s really important in a World cup when you play in four-five different venues. You need to have that little bit of versatility and flexibility in your squad that allows you to change things.</p>

<p id="2">&ldquo;Over the last few series, we probably have not been able to play a set squad due to a variety of reasons. But most of the guys in the 15 now have had a pretty decent amount of cricket in the last six months,&rdquo; added the coach.</p>
<p id="3">The experiments with the team combinations in the lead-up to World Cup may have drawn a lot of scrutiny but Dravid decided to keep that noise out of the team. &ldquo;I know there&rsquo;s a little bit of noise from the outside but in the group, communication has been very good and there is clarity. It&rsquo;s a bit unrealistic to expect us to keep playing the same guys over and over again, sometimes they are forced upon you &ndash; like Bumrah.&rdquo;</p>
