The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear a plea seeking the court to declare Talaq-e-Kinaya, Talaq-eBain, and all other forms of unilateral and extrajudicial procedures of divorce among Muslims as void and unconstitutional and sought response from the Centre.
A bench of Justices S A Nazeer and JB Pardiwala issued notices to the ministry of law and justice and ministry of minority affairs seeking their replies and tagged the case with petitions against Talaq-eHasan and Talaq-e-Ahsan matters.
