The stench from illegal dumping of chemical waste at the erstwhile dump in Auto Nagar is making life of residents in the area a living hell.
For the last six months, chemical waste from industries in Auto Nagar is being discreetly dumped in an open land adjacent to the Deer Park, which is a protected forest land, directly affecting people living in Judge's Colony Phase 1 &amp; Phase 2, Chitraseema, Subhodaya, Vijay Sri, Hemapuri, Sahara Estate, and other nearby areas.
While a wall separates the forest land and the dumping ground, the toxic stagnated water continues to seep onto the road leading to the Deer Park, more so when it rains.
"We have complained to local leaders and also the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), but the toxic water remains, and the stench has now worsened.&nbsp;Not just here, but several places in LB Nagar also get the stench but are not aware why it's happening," Damodar Goud, vice-president of Auto Nagar Dumpyard Abolishment Committee, told TOI.

The dumping yard was used till 2004 when the then&nbsp;YS Rajasekhara Reddy government directed the erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) to shift it to Jawahar Nagar. But sewage and chemical waste has been stagnating here, resulting in dead trees across the land.
"The problem has worsened over the past four months as neither the chemical waste dumping has been stopped&nbsp;nor has the toxic water been pumped out," N Ramana, general secretary of Judges Colony, told TOI.
Official sources said that they were waiting for the rains to subside to clear the area.
"We do have plans to first close down access to the land and then act as per requirement," said an official from GHMC engineering wing.
