The total number of cases so far in the state stood at 8,05,137. Total recoveries stood at 7,95,880 with 459 recoveries on Friday. The current positivity rate is 2.1%, while the recovery rate slipped to 98.85. The death toll stands at 4,111, as no new deaths were recorded.
On Friday, a total of 28,055 samples were tested. Telangana has now completed testing 3.58 crore samples and has reached 9.62 lakh sample testing per million population.
Meanwhile, in view of the surge in cases, children less than 10 years of age, elders above 60 years of age and people with comorbid conditions have been asked to stay indoors.
"The government is prepared to tackle any eventuality in the rising of Covid cases. It is important to complete vaccination by taking both doses and it is equally important to adhere to precautions against Covid, including wearing a face mask and maintaining physical distance," advised the health department.
