While it has declared ₹153 crore as income from electoral bonds in its latest contribution report filed with the Election Commission, another₹40 crore landed in its kitty from the Prudent Electoral Trust.
Other regional parties that have declared income from electoral bonds in their&nbsp;contribution reports for the year 2021-22 are YSR Congress Party (60 crore or three-fourths of its total contributions of over ₹80 crore), Shiromani Akali Dal (₹50 lakh) and&nbsp;Samajwadi Party (₹3.21 lakh).&nbsp;In 2020-21, YSR Congress Party had declared ₹96.25 crore as its income via electoral bonds route, while SAD and SP reported nil income from bonds.&nbsp;In 2019-20, which was also the general election year, SP had received ₹10.8 crore via electoral bonds route and TRS, ₹98.15 crore.
While only two national parties have filed their contribution reports for the year 2021-22 BSP, which has once again declared 'nil' contributions in excess of ₹20,000 each, and NCP, with total declared contributions of ₹57.9 crore the contribution reports of 16 regional parties for the relevant year can be accessed on the EC website.
Prudent Electoral Trust is one of the largest electoral trusts in India. A large part of corporate donations to electoral trusts go into its kitty.
The Trust has contributed big money to many regional parties in 2021-22. While it gave ₹60 crore to YSR Congress Party; its contributions to the TRS in the same year totalled ₹40 crore, to Samajwadi Party, ₹27 crore (over 80% of its total contributions of ₹33 crore), and to Shiromani Akali Dal, ₹7 crore.
NCP has not declared any contributions in its report.&nbsp;SAD declared total contributions worth ₹13.76 crore in 2021-22, Telugu Desam Party *62.9 lakh, YSR Congress Party ₹80.01 crore, and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) ₹1.43 crore.
