Hyderabad: The Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) has imposed environmental compensation of ₹5.5 crore on stone crushing units in GO 111 area.

The action was a result of a petition filed by one P V Subramanya Varma of Hyderabad in the National Green Tribunal South Bench at Chennai against illegal and unauthorised stone crusher units operating in GO 111 area. The crushers were located in Vattinagulapally, Kokapet, Gouldoddi, Gopanpally, Kollur, Kotwalguda, Osmannagar villages in Rangareddy and Sangareddy districts.
