You will see a new, uninhibited version of me in Sarkaru Vaari Paata: Mahesh Babu

In his upcoming film Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Mahesh Babu has decided to get a bit yuppie with his look. Sporting a long-ish mane, colourful clothes and an intricate one rupee coin signage tattooed on his neck, his massy transformation has been the talk of the town. “It wasn’t intentional. I’ll attribute the long hair to the lockdown. While staying at home, I stopped combing my hair, so it just grew longer, and we decided to keep the look for this film,” he says, laughing.

Having started shooting for the film in early 2020, staying in character for two years was the most challenging part for Mahesh and his team. “The constant uncertainty revolving around the COVID situation took its toll on all of us, physically, mentally and emotionally. The credit goes to my team for helping me switch back on seamlessly each time we had a break. It was hard because we didn’t have any clarity on when things will open up and when we could release our film. However, staying in character has ensured that I’ve given the best performance of my career,” reveals the actor.
