New Delhi: Home minister Amit Shah, during his two-day visit to the poll-bound Himachal Pradesh, put the performance of Narendra Modi government at the front of BJP’s campaign while highlighting the hold of families over Congess.

In his speeches at the six rallies he addressed, Shah also played up what he called the successes of the Jairam Thakur-led BJP government in the state as he exuded confidence that goodwill for the “double-engine” model would help the party beat rotational pattern of Himachal politics where BJP and Congress have traded the office and opposition benches every five year.

“Congress never implemented the One Rank- One Pension. However, our PM Modiji implemented it on which his government has so far spent over Rs 40,000 crore,” Shah told families of military veterans, a decisive vote bank in Himachal Pradesh.
