BMC officials say that they are working against time to complete all work and that a public notice for the lottery is expected on May 27. On the other hand, the many politicians who expect to contest the election are relieved as being out of power has kept them away from taking up public works from the corporate development funds.
For the February 2017 BMC polls, the lottery for reservation of seats was held almost five months before, in October 2016, at Bandra’s Rangsharda auditorium.
Officials from the civic election department said that the lottery will be a daylong process and that arrangements to conduct it in a large hall are already underway.
