Mumbai girl UpasanaNandi, 17, emerged as the joint national topper in the ISC results announced on Sunday. She shared the first rank with 17 other students. Nandi, whose aggregate score was 99.75%, is a student of Thane's Smt Sulochanadevi Singhania School.
Nandi, a Deonar resident, bagged the perfect score in science and mathematics and lost a mark in English. The board considers marks in English and any three subjects to tally the final score. In 2019, the board had for the first time in its 61-year history two students with 100%.
Compared to 2020 , the all-India pass percentage rose by 2.58% compared to 96.80% in 2020. The state, too, saw a rise of 1.26% in the success rate compared to 98.5% in 2020.
