Neglected spaces under Aarey, Oberoi flyovers to get a makeover File nic

Mumbai: The areas underneath the flyovers of the Western Express Highway near Aarey and Oberoi junctions will undergo a transformation as part of the beautification works under the PSouth ward.

While wards across the city are being spruced up, the P-South ward has its task cut out with focus primarily on the space under major flyovers in its jurisdiction.

The prosaic concrete underbelly of the flyover will be painted to create a pattern or a design, while walkways and gardens will be created underneath the flyover and the place will be illuminated. “The underneaths of the flyover are shabby and strewn with containers or other articles; we want to change that. Various concepts of gardens, including a layered garden, are being examined and we will create the most suitable ones,” said an official.
