₹32L fine imposed for dust norm violations

Teams appointed by Delhi government have inspected over 6,800 construction sites in the city as part of its anti-dust campaign and issued notices for cumulative penalties of Rs 32.4 lakh to over 250 of them for violations, government officials disclosed on Wednesday.

After a meeting on Wednesday to take stock of the antidust campaign, a Delhi government statement said, "It was observed that 6,868 construction sites have been inspected by officers under the antidust campaign. Notices/challans were issued to 253 sites and fines of Rs 32.4 lakh imposed for violation of guidelines issued at construction sites." 

On October 6, Delhi government constituted 586 inspection teams to ensure compliance with the anti-dust measures at construction sites.
