Big Bosses Just Don't Get Gen Z Techies

The war for talent is real and it's hurting employers like never before. Employees, on the other hand, have never had as many choices as a section of the skilled population does today. What's causing a further rift between the employees and the employers is that the new generation that walks into the corporate world today, comes with an abundance mindset. The previous generations were more sticky at the workplace and their scarcity mindset taught them to worship their work.

It's the employees who have gained control: As the balance is tilting towards the employees, employers of the world are uniting. Wipro has sacked 300 staffers for moonlighting. The company had earlier publicly stated that moonlighting was unethical. Infosys too has echoed the sentiment, with both facing a lot of flak from employees on social media. But other companies believe they want to be in tune with the changing times and, perhaps, permit side-hustles.
