Cop injured as drug peddler refuses to stop car for checking

A Delhi Police constable was critically injured after being hit by a car driven by an alleged drug peddler, who refused to stop for a vehicle check-in Karawal Nagar on Tuesday night. While the suspect was arrested, the cop suffered a hip fracture and is recuperating at a hospital.

The accused, identified as Ankur (22), is a resident of Dayalpur. He is a class XII dropout and currently unemployed. Cops said over 57 kg of cannabis was recovered from the Honda Civic he was driving.

According to police, constable Harender and head constable Amrish were on patrol duty Tuesday night when they spotted Ankur's car and asked him to cooperate for checking.
