Guv seeks 2nd opinion on Soren case, triggers unrest

Raipur/Ranchi: Jharkhand governor Ramesh Bais has sought a “second opinion” on the office-of-profit case related to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, triggering unrest in Ranchi, with the governing JMM threatening to move the Supreme court in case he delivered an adverse verdict.

“No one should point a finger at me. So, I have sought a second opinion on the matter,” Bais told a local channel in Raipur late on Wednesday.
“I don’t take any action on the basis of vindictiveness or to defame anyone. I hold a constitutional position and it’s my duty to uphold the Constitution,” he added.
