Nod For Prayers At Designated Ghats Of Yamuna: LG Office
LG 'Cautions’ CM On Chhath; AAP Hits Back, Says Lay Off

Routine preparations for celebrating the Chhath festival have become the latest flashpoint between lieutenant governor VK Saxena and AAP. After sources in the LG office let it be known that he had "cautioned" chief minister Arvind Kejriwal against a "misleading and premature" bid for publicity on the designated spots for celebrating the festival, AAP said in a sharp reaction that it was the LG who was hungry for "cheap publicity" and had no business to publicly reprimand an elected CM every day.

The LG's office had announced on Wednesday that he had given his approval to the proposal to allow prayers at designated ghats of the Yamuna during Chhath puja later this month. Sources said the LG had also asked the AAP government to ensure that the ghats were clean and there was enough water available in the river for the devotees to offer their prayers.
